Whilst work & society will no doubt be changed by AI (for many people & jobs there could be a significant impact) there are also great opportunities for those who can adapt and harness AI for productivity.
AI will help with certain tasks, making previously time consuming tasks much easier.
There are many tasks and situations though, where it’s the human factor that makes the difference. Even if that factor is just 1%, for business that impact could be massive.
For a BD/Sales example, could a computer or AI persuade someone to buy a product or take a risk when all the data points the other way? That will require strong communication skills and the ability to understand problems and provide solutions.
Can an AI predict the contrarian business opportunity? Henry Ford famously said that if he had asked people what they wanted they would have said faster horses. That human ability to spot opportunities that don’t seem obvious (intuition?) is needed.
I think the future will continue to be a mix of art & science 🙂
